Its tough to adapt when something like that happens, but The Dead band members of what has become The Dead found a way.
At first Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, and Bill Kreutzmann formed a band called “The Other Ones.” They performed concert tours in 1998, 2000, and 2002, and released one album, “The Strange Remain.” In 2003, The Other Ones decided to they change their name to “The Dead.” The firstĀ played under that moniker on Valentines Day of 2003 at San Francisco’s Warfield. They also played as the same name at Bonnarro Festival that year.
